Indoor activities in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield: built for winter

Pools, rinks, sheets, screens and stages -- the indoor bench, at its real addresses.

Indoor activities in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield: a town built for winter from the inside

A Monteregie winter is a serious thing, and Valleyfield's answer is plant: two pools (one indoor, one heated-outdoor in season), three arenas, a three-sheet curling rink, a college sports complex, a cinema, a museum and a presenter with 200 shows a year. Rain or January, the indoor bench is the deepest of any town this crew has censused at this size.

the Ville's recreation plant: the Cite des Arts et des Sports (100 rue Saint-Thomas, the indoor pool and sports complex), the complexe aquatique exterieur at parc Delpha-Sauve (heated pool, eight swim lanes, slide, lazy river and splash features), the town's THREE arenas -- Arena Salaberry (158 rue Nicholson), Arena Saint-Timothee (4949 boulevard Hebert) and the Centre civique (84 rue Marquette) -- and the Parc multisport (1900 boulevard Sainte-Marie). Registrations run through the Ville's inscription system in seasonal sessions Valspec, 169 rue Champlain -- the town's performing-arts presenter (diffuseur), founded in 1976, presenting 200-plus shows a year across three rooms at that address: the Salle Albert-Dumouchel (an Italian-style hall of about 850 seats), the Cabaret d'Albert and the Cafe Chez Rose. Its 50e programmation was unveiled in August 2026, and its current box office is Tuxedo Billet

The rinks

Three arenas and a curling club

Arena Salaberry (158 rue Nicholson, the Braves' ice), Arena Saint-Timothee (4949 boulevard Hebert) and the Centre civique (84 rue Marquette) carry the skating layer. Beside them: the Club de curling Valleyfield, 19 rue Maden -- the town's own curling club, in its own rink with three sheets (glaces), verified operating for the 2026-27 season from the club's own surfaces: its Tarification page carries the 2026-27 fee schedule, including the Curling Quebec amount, and registration runs through the club directly. The club's own history page dates the practice of curling in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield to about 1883 and the club's official founding to 1900, in the MOCO Club built by the Montreal Cotton company; women's curling at the club dates to 1933. No oldest or first claim is printed, because the club makes none on the surfaces read. Its junior introduction programme runs mid-October to early April, about one hour per session, per its Ligues et horaires page

The pools and the complex

Cite des Arts et des Sports, 100 rue Saint-Thomas

The indoor pool and sports complex anchors the Ville's session registrations; in summer the Delpha-Sauve outdoor aquatic complex (heated pool, eight lanes, slide, lazy river) takes over.

The screens and the stages

Cinema 7; Valspec; La Factrie; the MUSO

Cinema 7 Valleyfield, 50 rue Dufferin -- a 7-screen independent cinema, the town's own house, with digital projection and Dolby 7.1 sound in every room and matinee screenings daily. Its programme rolls weekly on the exhibitor's own surface (cinema7valleyfield.com), so check it for the current week's titles and times. The town also carries two cine-clubs, one at the cinema and one at Valspec. No drive-in (cine-parc) is seated in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, and none is imported from another town Add the Valspec rooms, La Factrie's fixtures and the MUSO's exhibitions -- and ENTITE's October run -- and a wet week fills itself.

The halls

The Ville's edifice rooms and the club halls

The Edifice Raphael-Barrette (222 rue Alphonse-Desjardins) hosts Ville ateliers in the Salle Marie-Jeanne-Perron-Clairmont; the Edifice Gaetan-Rousse (110 rue Mathias) hosts ticketed productions; the Chevaliers de Colomb Conseil 1180 hall (100-373 chemin Larocque) runs brunches and blood-donor clinics. The Ville publishes hourly tariffs for its rooms, not capacities -- none are inferred here.

Planning the indoor week

Anchor on the Ville's inscription sessions for the pools and rinks, Valspec's index for the evenings, and the library calendar at either branch. The one surface this guide will not do for you is the drop-in timetable: session times live on the Ville's own surfaces and change by season, and printing stale ones is how guides lie.
