Events in Midland — fall 2026

Midland's dated file for fall 2026 runs on two stages. On King Street, the Midland Cultural Centre's Rotary Hall carries a full October of concerts, drawn here from the Centre's own box office. And on Thanksgiving weekend, five minutes east in Tay Township, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons holds its Hometown Harvest Festival — printed here with its Tay seat stated, because it is the biggest dated event of Midland's fall even though it is not Midland's own. Every weekday printed below was checked against the 2026 calendar.

Photos for Midland are still on their way. Every listing below is real.

Thanksgiving weekend, Oct 10–12: Hometown Harvest Festival (Tay Township)

From Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons (16164 Highway 12 East) celebrates the harvest inside the reconstructed mission: live music in the courtyard, heritage demonstrations, candle-dipping and bannock roasted over the fire, Three Sisters soup, traditional games and a family scavenger hunt, the site's heritage cows, pigs and chickens joined by visiting farm animals, and an artisan market of handmade goods. Beginner line-dancing sessions run Saturday and Sunday, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., and guided barn tours run daily at set times. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner at Restaurant Sainte-Marie can be booked with event tickets. Admission and booking details are published on Sainte-Marie's own event page, which governs — this file prints no prices. The site stands in Tay Township; it is listed here as the Midland area's Thanksgiving anchor, credited to Tay.

Rotary Hall nights: the Cultural Centre's October concerts

The Midland Cultural Centre (333 King Street) runs the town's concert stage, and its own box office publishes an October built on tribute nights and one Remembrance matinee. Friday, October 9, 7:30–10:00 p.m.: Gold Dust Woman — The Stevie Nicks Experience. Saturday, October 10, 7:30–9:45 p.m.: DREAMER, 'The Supertramp Experience'. Friday, October 16, 7:30–10:00 p.m.: Oh So Sweet, a Gordon Lightfoot tribute with the Classic Lightfoot Live Band. Saturday, October 17, 7:30–10:00 p.m.: Girls Nite-Out, presented by Blackrose Entertainment.

Sunday, October 18 turns reflective: Reflections — Songs of Remembrance, Ric Ross's showcase of original songs honouring those who served, in an afternoon matinee at Rotary Hall (the box office lists the matinee window; confirm the start time when you book). The month closes loud: a Meat Loaf tribute on Thursday, October 22, Symply Skynyrd on Friday, October 23, and the MCC's FALSET Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31, 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. — all evening shows at 7:30 p.m. unless the box office states otherwise. Ticket prices and availability belong to the Centre's box office and are not frozen here.

The year's two big days are already in the books

Midland's signature day is behind us for 2026 and worth planning around for 2027. Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival — Canada's original and largest butter tart festival, running since June 2013 — filled the downtown core and the waterfront parks on Saturday, June 13, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Town reports the 2026 edition at some 300,000 butter tarts sold by its vendors and roughly 60,000 visitors, with the Egg Farmers of Ontario Butter Tart Contest, an entertainment stage and the Kids Zone in Harbourside Park. The Town's festival page already announces the next edition for Saturday, June 12, 2027. The summer's other anchor, the Town's Mural Festival, ran Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2026 in downtown and Harbourside Park. Both return on the Town's surfaces first; this file will carry their 2027 details when the Town publishes them.

What this file does not contain — and why

Four honest absences. No election events are listed: the October 26, 2026 municipal election is a vote, not an event listing — the Town's certified candidates and the internet/telephone voting window are carried on this guide's Midland city page, and the Town's official 2026 Elections page on midland.ca governs. No arena or recreation schedule is frozen: public skating and town programming run on the Town's own recreation surfaces, whose current times are the Town's to publish. Nothing from Penetanguishene is imported: Discovery Harbour and its fall programming stand in Penetanguishene, a separate town with its own guide — a good night out, but not Midland supply, and not listed here. No cruise departures are dated: Georgian Spirit's sailing calendar is seasonal and the operator's to publish. A short, checkable file beats a long invented one.

The standing offer between dates

Between the dated entries, October in Midland still fills a day easily: the mural walk in fall light, Little Lake Park's shoreline, the harbour at the foot of King Street, and the Highway 12 history corridor in Tay — Sainte-Marie, the Martyrs' Shrine in its centennial year, and Wye Marsh's boardwalks — all detailed, at their grade, on the Things to Do page.

One date further out, for planners: in Tay, Sainte-Marie's First Light — the site's candlelit late-fall evenings — is staged to begin Thursday, November 26, 2026 in the crew's festival record. Evenings, program and admission belong to Sainte-Marie's own surface, which governs; this file carries the start date and nothing more.
