Farmers' markets & local food
Mont-Laurier markets: two artisan seasons and a farm country, honestly labelled
This page starts with the honest negative -- no weekly market is verified here -- because the town's real market layer is worth more than an invented one: two artisan seasons, a harvest region, and farm gates.
The market layer, at its true weight
Mont-Laurier has no weekly farmers' market on any operator surface reached -- the market question is carried open, with a spring 2027 re-check, and this guide prints no invented weekly series. What the town does have is an artisan-market layer in two seasonal forms. The Marche d'automne fills the parc Toussaint-Lachapelle with local artisans, live music and family programming on an early-October Saturday -- its 2026 edition ran Saturday, October 3, 10 h to 17 h, past at this build, with the town's Halloween elements (a costume contest, candy for costumed children) inside it. The Ville's Marche de Noel chez les artisans takes over the Espace Theatre on one early-December Saturday, 10 h to 17 h, free, with some 45 regional artisans -- its 2026 date was not published on any surface reached, so none is printed. A second Christmas format, the Grand Marche de Noel au Coeur-Immacule in the hall at 570, rue Panet, is presented by CIM Createur d'evenements, likewise undated at build
The farm layer underneath is real Hautes-Laurentides agriculture: market gardeners and growers in the directory record (the Serres Côme Richer and Serres Suzanne Piché among them), the Cultiver pour nourrir production initiative supplying the region's food-aid organisms since 2013, and the UPA's Outaouais-Laurentides structures. It is a farm economy without a weekly market square -- printed as itself, never dressed up.
The seasons and the farm gate
The autumn day
The 2026 edition: Saturday, October 3, 10 h-17 h -- local artisans, live music, family programming, the costume contest. The 2024 edition sat at the parc des Canotiers -- the venue moved between editions and is printed for the current edition only.
The Christmas market
The Ville's own artisan Christmas market inside the theatre: some 45 regional artisans, Santa and musical programming in documented editions, 10 h-17 h, free. No 2026 date published at build.
The second format
The CIM-presented market in the hall at 570, rue Panet -- listed undated on the regional tourism surface, carried as a pattern only.
Why no weekly series is printed
A weekly market prints in this guide only when an operator's own surface publishes its cadence, hours, venue and season together. For Mont-Laurier, no such surface was reached -- the Ville publishes no marché public season, and a place record's hours are not an operator's season. Three independent censuses in this build reached the same result. The question re-opens in spring 2027 on the Ville's loisirs surfaces and the provincial public-markets directory.
The fair question, closed honestly
There is no agricultural fair or exposition seated in Mont-Laurier either: the provincial programme list for 2024-2027 names exactly one Laurentides exposition -- Lachute's, in Lachute, another town -- and no agricultural society seat was verified here. Mont-Laurier's farm story is production and artisan markets, not a fair, and this guide keeps it that way.
Common questions
Is there a farmers' market in Mont-Laurier?
No weekly series is verified on any operator surface reached in this build -- the question is carried open, not closed, with a spring 2027 re-check. The town's market layer is its two artisan seasons: the Marché d'automne (October) and the Christmas markets (December).
When is the Marché d'automne?
An early-October Saturday at the parc Toussaint-Lachapelle -- the 2026 edition ran Saturday, October 3, 10 h to 17 h, with artisans, live music and the costume contest.
When is Mont-Laurier's Christmas market?
The Ville's Marché de Noël chez les artisans runs one early-December Saturday at the Espace Theatre (10 h-17 h, free) by documented pattern; its 2026 date was unpublished at build and is not printed. The Grand Marché de Noël au Coeur-Immaculé is the second format.
