Date ideas in Reims
Reims was practically designed for dates: champagne everywhere, a floodlit Gothic cathedral, and picnic parks ten minutes from the centre.
Classic Reims romance
Champagne tasting for two
Le Parvis faces the cathedral and pours flights and vintages by the glass with a food menu - the date-night default. For the full ritual, book a house tour and tasting at Taittinger or Veuve Clicquot in the afternoon and carry the glow into dinner.
Cathedral at golden hour
Walk the parvis as the west facade catches the evening sun, then stay for the Rêve de Couleurs light show on summer nights - free, and made for two.
Parc de Champagne picnic
Build the picnic at the Halles du Boulingrin on a Saturday morning - cheese, charcuterie, biscuits roses, a bottle - and take it to the park lawns.
A notch up
Dinner at Le Millénaire (4-6 Rue Bertin, one Michelin star) is the special-occasion table. Or take a couples' cooking class at the Atelier De Luca (14 Rue Cères) - the épicurien workshops run to dinner, which you then eat. An evening at the Opéra de Reims dresses the night up properly.
