Festivals & the year round
King's festival year: a spring fair, a fall art season, a village Christmas
The township's giant runs in May; its art season runs now; its Christmas carries two records, flagged.
King's festival year: a spring fair, a fall art season, and a village Christmas
King's year is anchored at three points, and this page keeps them at three different strengths because that is how the record stands. The spring anchor is the township's giant. The fall anchor is dated and current. The winter anchor is real but carries a flagged pair of records. Everything else is printed at the grade it earned -- pattern, past edition, or not verified -- and nothing is padded into a festival it is not.
the Schomberg Fair, run by the Schomberg Agricultural Society at the fairgrounds in the heart of downtown Schomberg, beside the river on Main Street -- the largest event in King Township on the society's own description, and a spring fair, not a fall one. Its 2026 edition, the 176th, ran Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, 2026: gates opened at 5 p.m. Friday ahead of the demolition derby, the fair's most popular event; Saturday carried the grand parade on Main Street, the midway, homecraft hall and livestock shows. The edition's theme, as the society's own About and fair-dates pages and the Township's council summary carry it, was "Hay Bales & Cow Tails." Two conflicts ride the record flagged, never merged: a second theme line circulates on one society page, and the society's surfaces carry two differing admission grids -- so no admission figure prints in this guide; read gate prices on the society's own surface. The 2026 edition is past at this build -- no 2027 date is derived here; the society publishes its own fair book and dates each winter.
The year, season by season
Fall: the art season at the Heritage & Cultural Centre
Arts Society King, the township's arts producer, seated at the Heritage & Cultural Centre. Its current season is dated and public: a first juried Fall Art Show and Sale, themed "Change is in the Air," runs October 13 to November 13, 2026 in the centre's East Gallery; the King Artisan Holiday Market runs November 21-22, 2026 through the centre's historic buildings, with 18 artisan spaces on the society's own announcement; and an Art Lab workshop on portraiture and charcoal drawing is dated November 28, 2026. Its ARTROAM King juried show ran April 11-12, 2026 -- past, and printed here as the shape of its spring, never as a future date. Two holiday-market records for the same November weekend stand in King's record, flagged here and never merged. Arts Society King's King Artisan Holiday Market is announced by the society for November 21-22, 2026 at the Heritage & Cultural Centre, with 18 artisan spaces. The Township's own pages separately carry the One of a King Handmade Holiday Market, returning to the King Township Municipal Centre, 2585 King Road, on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., free admission, with more than 45 vendors and over 500 shoppers recorded for its previous edition. Two producers, two venues, one weekend: read each organizer's own surface before choosing, and do not let any listing quietly collapse them into one event.
Fall: the Harvest King market day
King's farmers'-market record is an honest negative with one bright dated exception, and this guide prints it at full strength. Two village market series are real and documented on Township community calendars across the 2010s -- the Schomberg Farmers' Market on alternate Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in season, and the King City Farmers Market on alternate Sundays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 12935 Keele Street, the two designed to alternate weekends. But no operator surface reached in this research publishes a current 2026 season for either: the Schomberg operator's own site is stale at a 2020 notice, and the King City market has no operator surface at all. So no 2026 series is printed and no date is derived from the old alternate-week pattern -- that would invent roughly a dozen market days per village. The dated exception: the Township and the King Environmental Action Team staged the first-ever Harvest King Fall Farmers Market on Sunday, October 4, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Municipal Centre, 2585 King Road -- one day, just held, free to attend, on the Township's own release. Standing farm retail is not a market series: the Highway 9 Farmers Market at 3890 Highway 9 in Kettleby and the farm shops below are shops, open on their own hours, never dressed up as a Saturday series.
Canada Day: the Kettleby pattern
King's Canada Day is a village production, and it prints here as a documented pattern, not a 2026 claim. The celebration is seated in Kettleby, verified in two past years -- Monday, July 1, 2019 and Friday, July 1, 2022, both running 5 to 10 p.m., free, with games, food and fireworks. Its park name stands in the record in two forms -- Tyrwhitt Park in one year's record, Kettleby Park in the other -- carried unmerged inside the pattern, exactly as found. No 2026 Kettleby production was verified in this research, so nothing about 2026 is asserted; the big regional Canada Day shows in the same listings belong to Richmond Hill and Aurora, firewalled as theirs.
Spring: the Nobleton Victoria Day Fair
the Nobleton Victoria Day Fair and Fireworks Show -- Nobleton's own fixture, dated on the Township's own 2026 surfaces: Monday, May 18, 2026, noon to dusk, at the Dr. William Laceby Nobleton Community Centre and Arena, 15 Old King Road in Nobleton, with a parade, midway, live entertainment, artisans and food trucks and a fireworks finale in the Township's own description. It is past at this build and prints as verified 2026 canon; no 2027 date is derived from it.
The Memorial Park festival shape (documented, not current)
King City's Memorial Park, at the King City Arena on Doctors Lane, hosted a Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival in past editions -- a June edition ran Saturday, June 10, 2023, noon to 9 p.m., on its ticketing record. No current-season edition was verified in this research, so the festival prints as a documented shape of a King City summer, never as a dated plan. Watch the Township calendar and the organizer's own surface for any new edition.
Schomberg's Main Street seasons, and the Marsh's soup day
Schomberg's village year runs on its Main Street activation calendar on the Township's own planning record: a spring birds-and-blossoms season around the fair, an art month and street gallery in September, a Scarecrow month in October, and A Taste of Main dining activations. Those are programme shapes published by the Township, printed as shapes -- individual dates live on the Township calendar, and none is derived here. One December date IS settled, on the event's own site: A Main Street Christmas, Schomberg's signature Christmas festival on its historic Main Street, dated on the event's own site: Saturday, December 5, 2026, 3:00 to 8:30 p.m., presented by the Schomberg Village Association -- the Community Santa Claus Parade at 4:00 p.m., a Christmas market in Schomberg Community Hall, and the Farmers' Parade of Lights closing the evening; gate $8 on the day / $5 in advance, children 12 and under free, on the organizer's own published terms. In the north, the Holland Marsh, the drained muck-soil plain along the Holland River that grows carrots, onions and a widening bench of other vegetables on some of the most fertile soil in Canada. The Marsh is shared ground: it runs astride King Township's northern edge and Bradford West Gwillimbury, and only the King-seated layer -- the hamlet of Ansnorveldt and its park -- is King's in this guide. Its festival, the Holland Marsh Soupfest at Ansnorveldt Park, is an annual one-day fall event documented across past editions; published times for it have varied between editions (an 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. reading and an 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. reading both stand in the record, flagged, never merged), and no current edition date is asserted here.
One discipline note, printed so it is never blurred: this township's community-meal record is at an interim stage, and this guide asserts NO meal verdict anywhere -- no food-bank programme, parish supper or club dinner is presented here as a listing. The King Township Food Bank is distribution, not a meal, and it is named in this guide only in that form.
Common questions
What is King Township's biggest festival?
The Schomberg Fair -- the Schomberg Agricultural Society's spring fair in downtown Schomberg, described by the society as the largest event in King Township. Its 176th edition ran May 29-31, 2026; the demolition derby on Friday night is its most popular event.
When are King's holiday markets in 2026?
Two records stand for the weekend of November 21-22, 2026, flagged and never merged: Arts Society King's King Artisan Holiday Market at the Heritage & Cultural Centre, and the Township's One of a King Handmade Holiday Market at the Municipal Centre. Read each organizer's own surface.
Is there a King Township fall fair?
No -- King's fair is a SPRING fair. The Schomberg Fair runs in late May. Fall in King is the art season, the harvest market day and the holiday markets, not a fall fair.
