Live music

Live music in King: pub rooms, a hall, one fair stage

Small, real, and exactly placed -- where the township already gathers.

Live music in King: pub listings, a performance hall, and fair-week stages

King's live-music layer is small, real and exactly placed: it lives where the township gathers -- in its two pub rooms, in a heritage performance hall, on its fair stage for one weekend a year, and in the community calendar's one-off concerts. This page names the rooms and the seasons, and dates only what the venues' own surfaces date.

King's evening rooms are village rooms. The Schomberg Pub & Patio, 226 Main Street in Schomberg, is a gastropub in a historic house on the village's main street, with a patio beside the creek and live music on its own published entertainment listings. In King City, Hogan's Inn at 12998 Keele Street -- an inn with more than 150 years of history on its own account -- keeps the Hunt Pub, which the venue describes as hosting live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Neither is a strip or a district; they are two rooms in two villages, and that is the honest shape of a King night out.

Where the music actually happens

Laskay Hall, at the Heritage & Cultural Centre

2920 King Road, King City

the King Heritage & Cultural Centre, 2920 King Road in King City -- the Township's own heritage and culture house, owned and operated by the municipality. On one site it holds the King Township Museum collection (more than 1,800 artefacts), the township archives, the King Township Historical Society, Arts Society King, two exhibition galleries, a performance hall in Laskay Hall, and four historic buildings, among them the 1861 Kinghorn Schoolhouse and the 1852 King Station, moved here in 1989. The centre's own published hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Laskay Hall is the township's producing hall: Township records describe its programmed uses as theatre, dance and music lessons and performances, concerts and small culinary events, under the hall's historic board tradition. Its concert dates ride the centre's and the Township's calendars.

Fair week: the Schomberg Fair stage

Late May, Schomberg fairgrounds

the Schomberg Fair, run by the Schomberg Agricultural Society at the fairgrounds in the heart of downtown Schomberg, beside the river on Main Street -- the largest event in King Township on the society's own description, and a spring fair, not a fall one. Its 2026 edition, the 176th, ran Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, 2026: gates opened at 5 p.m. Friday ahead of the demolition derby, the fair's most popular event; Saturday carried the grand parade on Main Street, the midway, homecraft hall and livestock shows. The edition's theme, as the society's own About and fair-dates pages and the Township's council summary carry it, was "Hay Bales & Cow Tails." Two conflicts ride the record flagged, never merged: a second theme line circulates on one society page, and the society's surfaces carry two differing admission grids -- so no admission figure prints in this guide; read gate prices on the society's own surface. The 2026 edition is past at this build -- no 2027 date is derived here; the society publishes its own fair book and dates each winter.

The artisan-and-art season's music layer

Heritage & Cultural Centre, fall 2026

Arts Society King, the township's arts producer, seated at the Heritage & Cultural Centre. Its current season is dated and public: a first juried Fall Art Show and Sale, themed "Change is in the Air," runs October 13 to November 13, 2026 in the centre's East Gallery; the King Artisan Holiday Market runs November 21-22, 2026 through the centre's historic buildings, with 18 artisan spaces on the society's own announcement; and an Art Lab workshop on portraiture and charcoal drawing is dated November 28, 2026. Its ARTROAM King juried show ran April 11-12, 2026 -- past, and printed here as the shape of its spring, never as a future date.

What this page will not do

No lineup is invented here. Pub lineups rotate weekly and live on the venues' own listings; the fair's 2026 stage carried tribute acts on its published schedule, past at this build, and no 2027 act is derived from it. King's music story is rooms and seasons, honestly told -- a heritage hall, two pubs, one fair weekend -- not a concert calendar dressed up from aggregators.
