Teen activities in King: ice, water, rock, and a campus

Teen activities in King: junior hockey nights, a new aquatics centre, and a campus in the township

King's teen layer runs on its facilities: the newest aquatics-and-ice centre in the region, three village arena systems, a curling club with youth curling, a library system programming for teens, and a college campus whose open house is a real date in a Grade 11 or 12 calendar. This page keeps it at that -- facilities and dated programmes, no invented hangouts.

the Zancor Centre, 1600 15th Sideroad in King City -- the Township's new anchor recreation centre, built on land leased from Seneca Polytechnic's King Campus and billed as Canada's first zero-carbon combined aquatics and ice-sports facility. It carries twin ice pads, a six-lane pool and a leisure pool, and a fieldhouse. Drop-in programming began Saturday, January 4, 2025 and the official opening was Sunday, January 26, 2025. It is the home rink of the King Rebellion (below).

Minor hockey and the three-village system

Schomberg, Nobleton and King City arenas

King's signature team is the King Rebellion of the Ontario Junior Hockey League -- Junior A hockey at the Zancor Centre in King City, where the Township's own opening release names the centre's rink as the Rebellion's home. The club relocated to King for the 2024-25 season and is current in 2026-27. No fixture is printed in this guide: home dates are read on the OJHL's official schedule, never derived from standings or aggregator surfaces. One tier down, the Schomberg Cougars play at the Trisan Centre, above a three-village minor-hockey system across the Trisan, Nobleton and Zancor rinks. Schomberg's own club at the Trisan Centre is the Schomberg Cougars; beneath the junior teams, one township minor-hockey system skates across the Trisan, Nobleton and Zancor rinks, on the associations' own surfaces.

Youth curling and the survival programme

Trisan Centre and Cold Creek

the King Curling Club, which plays at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg -- Schomberg is inside King Township, so this is King's club, and no curling club is seated in King City village. The club runs leagues six days a week from October to April on four sheets, with an adult Learn-to-Curl programme and youth curling. Its 2026-27 registration closed at midnight on Friday, September 18, 2026, and its own surfaces carry dated items forward from here: pre-registration for Adult Learn to Curl Fall 2026 on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., and the Olive Branch Bonspiel on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. And outdoors, the Township's Survivor's Den shelter-building programme for youth ages 8-18 is dated Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Cold Creek on the Township calendar.

The library's teen layer

Four branches and a kiosk

the King Township Public Library, a four-branch system spread the way the township is spread: King City at 1970 King Road, Nobleton at 8 Sheardown Drive, Schomberg at 77 Main Street, and a 24/7 self-service branch at Ansnorveldt, 18997 Dufferin Street, plus a book kiosk at the Trisan Centre. A library card here reaches further than books: the system's Experience Passes lend an Ontario Parks day-use permit and admission passes for named Toronto attractions, first-come at the branches, on the library's own published terms. Study space, programmes and the Experience Passes are the library's teen offer, on its own published programme surfaces.

Seneca, seen early

Open House, Saturday, November 21, 2026, 9 a.m. to noon

Seneca Polytechnic's King Campus, 13990 Dufferin Street in King City -- a real post-secondary seat inside the township, on 282 hectares of woods, fields and lakeshore around Lake Seneca. Its buildings include Garriock Hall and Magna Hall (opened September 27, 2018), a residence of about 230 students, and Eaton Hall, the 1939 Norman-style chateau built for Lady Flora Eaton, which served as a naval convalescent hospital in the Second World War before the college bought the estate. Seneca's own Open House page dates its fall edition at King Campus for Saturday, November 21, 2026, 9 a.m. to noon. The University of Toronto's Koffler Scientific Reserve is also seated in King -- a research station, recorded as such, not a public campus.

The honest limits

King has no cinema, no mall and no teen club strip, and this page does not dress the arenas up as any of those. What it has -- ice, water, ice-adjacent rock (curling), trails and a campus -- it has at real quality. The multiplex-and-mall version of a teen weekend is a day trip to Vaughan or Newmarket, labelled as theirs on this guide's day-trips pages, at the adjudicated distances printed there.

Common questions

What is there for teenagers to do in King Township?

Skate, swim and train at the Zancor and Trisan centres, play or watch junior and minor hockey, curl with the King Curling Club's youth programme, join Township outdoor programmes like the Survivor's Den (ages 8-18, October 10, 2026), and use the library's teen programmes and study space.
