Nightlife
King after dark: two pub rooms, two arenas, a rink
No strip, no club, no cinema -- and a perfectly good village night out, printed as it is.
King nightlife: two pub rooms, an arena, a rink -- and no strip, printed plainly
Set the expectation first, at full strength: King Township has no bar strip, no nightclub and no comedy club, and this guide invents none. What it has is better suited to what it is -- a gastropub in a heritage house on Schomberg's Main Street, a historic inn's pub in King City, arena nights when the junior teams are home, and a curling lounge in season. A King night out is a village night out.
King's evening rooms are village rooms. The Schomberg Pub & Patio, 226 Main Street in Schomberg, is a gastropub in a historic house on the village's main street, with a patio beside the creek and live music on its own published entertainment listings. In King City, Hogan's Inn at 12998 Keele Street -- an inn with more than 150 years of history on its own account -- keeps the Hunt Pub, which the venue describes as hosting live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Neither is a strip or a district; they are two rooms in two villages, and that is the honest shape of a King night out.
The evening, room by room
The Schomberg Pub & Patio
The township's liveliest room on its own listings: a gastropub in a historic house, three rooms inside, a patio beside the creek in season, and live music on its published entertainment listings. Hours and lineups live on the pub's own surface -- they move, and this guide does not freeze them.
Hogan's Inn and the Hunt Pub
The inn describes its Hunt Pub as hosting live music on Friday and Saturday nights, inside a building with more than 150 years of its own history. It is King City's evening anchor -- a dining room and a pub under one historic roof, read on the venue's own surface before going.
Arena nights
King's signature team is the King Rebellion of the Ontario Junior Hockey League -- Junior A hockey at the Zancor Centre in King City, where the Township's own opening release names the centre's rink as the Rebellion's home. The club relocated to King for the 2024-25 season and is current in 2026-27. No fixture is printed in this guide: home dates are read on the OJHL's official schedule, never derived from standings or aggregator surfaces. One tier down, the Schomberg Cougars play at the Trisan Centre, above a three-village minor-hockey system across the Trisan, Nobleton and Zancor rinks.
The curling lounge
the King Curling Club, which plays at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg -- Schomberg is inside King Township, so this is King's club, and no curling club is seated in King City village. The club runs leagues six days a week from October to April on four sheets, with an adult Learn-to-Curl programme and youth curling. Its 2026-27 registration closed at midnight on Friday, September 18, 2026, and its own surfaces carry dated items forward from here: pre-registration for Adult Learn to Curl Fall 2026 on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., and the Olive Branch Bonspiel on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. League nights end in the club's lounge; spectating a bonspiel, including the Olive Branch Bonspiel on Saturday, November 21, 2026, is a legitimate King evening.
The cinema negative, at full strength
King Township has NO operating cinema seated inside it -- printed at full strength, once, so no page of this guide dresses an evening around a screen that does not exist here. What King has instead is the occasional community movie night: the Township's own calendar carried a free Movie under the Stars in Schomberg on Saturday, October 3, 2026, hosted by a local dental practice -- a one-night community screening, past at this build, not a cinema and not a series. The multiplexes that showtimes pages attach to a King search are seated in Vaughan, Aurora and Richmond Hill; they are those cities' screens, labelled as outside places on the day-trips pages of this guide, never as King's.
