Clearview festivals: a fall fair, a hall circuit, a winter carnival and a witches' night
The calendar here has four peaks of four different kinds -- an agricultural fair in September, a concert circuit in the halls all autumn, a winter carnival in February, and a one-night downtown takeover before Halloween -- with junior hockey carrying the winter between them.
Four peaks, four seasons
The Great Northern Exhibition is the township's signature weekend: the Collingwood Agricultural Society's fall fair, on fairgrounds that sit inside Clearview at 2220 Fairgrounds Road North, Stayner -- the society carries a Collingwood name, but the fair's seat is here, and this guide prints it as a township record, exactly as the township's own boundary ruling settles it. The 2026 edition ran Friday September 25 to Sunday September 27, gates at 9 a.m., with the society's published admission at $15 for adults, $5 for youth and children five and under free, on greatnorthernex.com. Livestock, homecraft, midway and demolition-derby energy on 200-volunteer power: this is the agricultural township showing itself.
The township's culture runs on its halls. The Small Halls Festival -- the township's own festival, running September 18 to November 7 in 2026 on the festival's own site, smallhallsfestival.ca -- strings more than twenty concerts, food nights and family events through the community halls of Avening, Dunedin, Duntroon, Brentwood, Nottawa, Singhampton and Sunnidale Corners, with tickets running from the twenty-five-dollar range to VIP prices on the township's listing. It is the single best reason to be in Clearview on an autumn evening, and it is live right now.
The peaks, carded
The September peak
Three days, Friday to Sunday in late September (September 25 to 27 in 2026), gates at 9 a.m.: livestock and homecraft judging, midway, grandstand shows and the township's farm year on display. Admission and the daily grid live with the Collingwood Agricultural Society.
The autumn circuit
September 18 to November 7 in 2026: more than twenty ticketed nights of music, food and family programming in the halls of Avening, Dunedin, Duntroon, Brentwood, Nottawa, Singhampton and Sunnidale Corners. Cash at the door on the festival's terms; the grid lives with the festival.
The February peak
The township's longest-running festival: fireworks Friday, parade Saturday, a two-dollar button for the weekend, in the village of New Lowell. The 51st edition ran February 6 to 8, 2026.
The summer and autumn singles
Two dated singles complete the year. Gathering of the Classics filled Edenvale Aerodrome on Highway 26 east of Stayner on Saturday August 8, 2026 -- classic aircraft and cars on the organizer's own listing (the Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation); the township's listing carried different hours, and the organizer's govern, as the crew's record flags. The Stayner Witches Walk runs Friday October 23, 2026, 5 to 9 p.m. from Station Park -- the Clearview Chamber's downtown Halloween evening, re-homed to this township's guide where it belongs. The Stayner Santa Claus Parade closes the year on Saturday December 5, 2026, 10:30 a.m. down Main Street, on the township's own calendar.
What this guide does not do with dates
Festival dates are printed only where a primary or organizer surface publishes them: the Society for the fair, the festival's own site for Small Halls, the township for Winterama and the parade, the Chamber for the Witches Walk. Everything else is printed as a form in its season, with its date read at its organizer -- never projected from a past year's listing. Creemore's festivals -- Copper Kettle, its arts festival -- are Creemore's own records and appear nowhere here.
Common questions
When is the Great Northern Exhibition?
The last full weekend of September, at the fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road North in Stayner -- in 2026, Friday September 25 to Sunday September 27, gates at 9 a.m. The Collingwood Agricultural Society runs it; its name is Collingwood's, its grounds and seat are Clearview's.
What is the Small Halls Festival?
The township's own autumn festival: more than twenty concerts, food nights and family events in Clearview's community halls, September 18 to November 7 in 2026, tickets from the twenty-five-dollar range upward on the township's listing. It is the best live-music season in the township.
When is Sunnidale Winterama?
Early February in New Lowell -- the 51st edition ran February 6 to 8, 2026, with Friday fireworks and a Saturday parade. A two-dollar collector button is the weekend's price on the township's listing.
