Nightlife

Nightlife in Clearview: hockey, halls and one good pub

There is no late-night strip in Clearview, and this guide will not invent one. The night here is event-shaped: a hockey game, a hall concert, a pub table -- and once a year, a downtown full of witches.

The documented night

The Clearview evening is honest and thin, and this guide prints it at its true size: a Siskins or Canucks game at the Stayner arena in season; a Small Halls concert in a village hall through the autumn; a pub table in Stayner -- Friends Pub & Grill on Highway 26 is the documented local form, known for burgers and team-sized welcomes; the Thursday market's licensed gazebo evening in summer; and, once a year, the Witches Walk filling downtown Stayner on the Friday before Halloween. There is no nightclub strip in this township and none is claimed: Clearview stays up for hockey, halls and harvest, and goes quiet honestly after.

The township's culture runs on its halls. The Small Halls Festival -- the township's own festival, running September 18 to November 7 in 2026 on the festival's own site, smallhallsfestival.ca -- strings more than twenty concerts, food nights and family events through the community halls of Avening, Dunedin, Duntroon, Brentwood, Nottawa, Singhampton and Sunnidale Corners, with tickets running from the twenty-five-dollar range to VIP prices on the township's listing. It is the single best reason to be in Clearview on an autumn evening, and it is live right now.

The night, in its three rooms

The game night

Siskins hockey, Stayner arena

Junior hockey at 269 Regina Street is the township's loudest standing evening: a community rink at full voice, Canucks minor hockey on the surrounding nights, the library's evening hours on the same campus.

The hall night

Small Halls concerts, township-wide

Through the autumn the festival moves the night around: a concert in Avening one week, a food night in Brentwood the next, music in Dunedin or Singhampton after that. The hall is the venue; the drive is part of the evening.

The pub table

Friends Pub & Grill, Highway 26, Stayner

The documented Stayner form: a highway pub known for burgers, meat pies and team-sized welcomes, at 7287 Highway 26 on its directory listings. Hours live with the house; in a township this size, the pub is the nightlife, and it is enough.

The seasonal nights

Summer's night is Thursday: Music, Market & Park It runs Station Park to 7:30 p.m. with gazebo music and the Kinsmen's licensed area, and the town stays out for it. October's night is the Witches Walk -- Friday October 23, 2026, 5 to 9 p.m., downtown Stayner in costume, on the Chamber's listing. December opens with the Santa parade's morning, not its night; the township's December evenings belong to the halls and the arena.

What this guide does not claim

No bar strip, no club, no late kitchen is documented on the surfaces reached, and none is printed. Collingwood's and Wasaga Beach's evening scenes are those towns', a short drive north -- named here as the honest alternative for a bigger night, never absorbed as Clearview's.

What is the Witches Walk?

Downtown Stayner's Halloween evening, run by the Clearview Chamber of Commerce: Friday October 23, 2026, 5 to 9 p.m. from Station Park, with a scavenger hunt, decorated storefronts and gift draws on the Chamber's listing.
