Kids in Clearview: storytime, the fair and a two-dollar winter carnival

Clearview raises its kids the township way: library programmes in two villages, a real agricultural fair, a winter carnival built for families, and a pond park in the seat. Here is the children's township.

A farm township, with children

The library is the engine. The Clearview Public Library's branches run the children's programme year -- the crew's own staged record is its flavour: a Georgian Triangle Humane Society storytime at the Stayner Branch, Wednesday October 21, 2026, 11:00 to 11:45 a.m., on the library's own calendar -- with the New Lowell schoolhouse branch carrying its own grid. Stayner in brief: the seat -- Administration Centre, the arena and library campus on Regina Street, Station Park on Highway 26, Main Street shops and the EcoPark trails.

Sunnidale Winterama, in New Lowell, is the winter counterweight: the township's longest-running festival, running since the mid-1970s on the township's account, with the 51st edition held February 6 to 8, 2026 -- fireworks at New Lowell Recreation Park on the Friday, a Saturday parade through the village streets, and a two-dollar collector button as the price of the weekend, on the township's Discover Clearview surfaces at discoverclearview.ca.

The programmes

Library branches, Stayner + New Lowell

Storytimes, clubs and school-break programming on the LibCal calendar -- free, local and in two communities, so no family drives far for a programme.

The fair

GNE, September, Stayner fairgrounds

Livestock barns, homecraft, midway and grandstand: the agricultural fair is the children's September -- youth $5, five and under free on the Society's 2026 listing.

The pond

Clearview EcoPark, Stayner

The gentle day: pond loop, trails and picnic ground in the seat -- the walk small legs finish, with Main Street treats after.

The parade and the walk

December opens with the Stayner Santa Claus Parade -- Saturday December 5, 2026, 10:30 a.m. down Main Street, hot chocolate at the end of the route on the township's listing. October's child-sized night is the Witches Walk (Friday October 23, from 5 p.m. at Station Park), costume-forward and family-framed on the Chamber's listing. In summer, the Thursday market carries children's activities inside its Station Park evening.

The outdoor ladder

The escarpment waits at the right age: the EcoPark and Station Park for the smallest, the Lookout for the first real view, the Bluffs' main trails for older children with an adult reading the NVCA's notes -- the Keyhole's crevice terrain is big-kid country, printed plainly.

The school-break layer

School breaks run on the library and the township: the Clearview Public Library's break programming at both branches in this guide, and the Township's recreation programme grid announced on its own surfaces, carry the PA-day and holiday weeks. Read the current break grid at its source -- this guide never freezes a camp calendar it cannot keep current.

Common questions

What is there for kids in Clearview?

Are there storytimes in Clearview?

Yes -- the Clearview Public Library programmes them at its branches; its calendar carried a humane-society storytime at the Stayner Branch on Wednesday October 21, 2026. The current grid lives on the library's LibCal calendar.

Is the GNE good for young children?

It is a working agricultural fair -- animals, exhibits and a midway -- with children five and under free on the Society's 2026 listing. Fair-weekend grids and terms live with the Society.
