Teens in Clearview: the rink, the fair and the bluffs

A township teen's year has a shape: hockey all winter, the fair in September, the Witches Walk in October, ski days on the brow -- and halls that actually programme for families. Here it is at full size.

The active township, for older kids

Stayner in brief: the seat -- Administration Centre, the arena and library campus on Regina Street, Station Park on Highway 26, Main Street shops and the EcoPark trails. The arena is the teen centre of gravity: Clearview Minor Hockey's Canucks run the youth game from that ice, and the Siskins' junior nights are the township's big-kid evening.

The second gravity is seasonal and moves: Winterama's February weekend in New Lowell, the Classics' aircraft-and-car day in August, the fair in September, Small Halls through the autumn -- a festival circuit a teen can actually attend, in halls ten minutes from home.

The ice

Canucks + Siskins, Stayner arena

Play with Clearview Minor Hockey or watch the Siskins: the Regina Street arena is the township's teen living room in season, library next door for the homework hours.

The fair

GNE weekend, September

Midway, barns and grandstand with your own crowd: the Great Northern Exhibition, September 25 to 27 in 2026, youth admission $5 on the Society's listing, five and under free.

The brow

Highlands Nordic, Duntroon

Ski and snowboard-country's quieter sibling: groomed cross-country trails, rentals and lessons on the escarpment at Duntroon -- the active winter day that is not a rink.

The October night

The Witches Walk -- Friday October 23, 2026, 5 to 9 p.m., downtown Stayner -- is built for this age: costumes, a scavenger hunt through the shops and a Haunted Storefront Showdown on the Chamber's listing. It is the township's one night the main street belongs to teenagers.

The honest limit

There is no teen-only venue, no cinema and no arcade seated in the township on the surfaces reached, and none is claimed. The library's programme grid and the township's youth programming -- read on their own surfaces -- are the real structured layer, and the festival circuit is the social one.

The youth centre layer

The township's brochure mapping carries a Clearview Youth Centre in Stayner -- the structured youth layer beside the arena and the library campus. Its programme grid lives with the township and is read there; this page points to the door rather than freezing a schedule that changes by the term.

Common questions

What is there for teenagers in Clearview?

Minor hockey and Siskins nights at the Stayner arena, the GNE fair, Small Halls family nights, library programmes, the Witches Walk, Highlands Nordic ski days and the escarpment trails. The township is activity-rich and venue-thin -- the year, not the building, is the programme.

Can teens go to Small Halls shows?

The festival programmes family and all-ages nights among its twenty-plus events; each night's terms live on the festival's grid. Cash at the door on the festival's terms.

Where do teens hang out in Stayner?

The arena-and-library campus on Regina Street and Station Park are the documented centres; the Thursday market evening in summer is the social peak.
